advancements. The Pack as a whole was introduced to this year's leadership and all leadership took the Leadership Pledge. We welcomed many new
leaders to Cub Scout Pack 172. We were surprised with a guest speaker, Mary Ann Vlahac from the Perry House Foundation, who gave our scouts and
parents a talk about the history of Stratford, legends and lore. It was very interesting to hear about our town's history in topics such as
Goody Basset and Phelps Mansion. Our scouts listened intently as Mary Ann described historical events and told them the truth about the rock upon
which legend stated that Goody Basset scraped her nails into as she was being taken away. Mary Ann also invited our scouts to attend the
Legends/Lore tours being offered by Perry House during this Halloween holiday season. After chairs were put away, our scouts played "Mummy".
We all had fun watching our scouts create their mummies and even had one den who wrapped up their leader! After we all cleaned up our Cubmaster's
minute reminded us how we can explore the world in books, then we enjoyed
apple cider and munchkins courtesy of our Cubmaster as we visited and met each other, some for the first time. Kathy Rainey reminded us to
all come to the Fall Cleanup scheduled for November 9th from 1-3pm at SHL, this year for the first time in conjunction with the SHL PTA.

came out of the clown car, driven by Mrs. Clowny Kovach and shared with us one element of the Boy Scout Law. After our skit, Bob, Cubmaster Rich
