But I Never Camped Before
EAGLE PATROL SUGGESTIONS FOR CAMPING
Cub Scouts typically go"Car Camping". That means they have the ability to drive close to
where they will camp, unload their gear, do some set-up, then the vehicle is moved away from
the camp area for the duration of the outing. The planned outing should be treated as if you were going with your own family.
Just because you are a Cub Scout that doesn't mean you should not heed the warnings of potential bad weather conditions.
SOME OF THE BASIC TIPS FROM EAGLE PATROL
Plan your outing in advance.
You and your group must be aware of specific responsibilities.
Who brings what gear?
Know the minimum items you are required to bring (Tent, Sleeping bag, etc).
Understand meal plans for the trip to and from the site if any and most importantly, while your there.
Is there a campfire plan?
Do you have a schedule of events planned or will you just stand in a circle looking at each other after you get there?
If you are not clear on your responsibilities before or during the outing, consult with your Den Leader, Outing Coordinator or Cubmaster.
Be PREPARED!
DO YOUR BEST!
HAVE FUN!
