Year-end Campout, May Pack Meeting and Graduation

Schedule Details

• Friday Night (19 May 06)
  • Camping over on Friday is optional
  • Dinner is on your own
  • Watkins Park has a Bonfire
    • The park hosts a bonfire, open to public, at the Amphitheater adjacent to the nature center.  The Spicebush trail connects the campground to the Amphitheater.
  • Campfire ring available at campsites
• Saturday (20 May 06)
  • 0800 – 0845 - Breakfast (on your own).
  • 0900 – 1030  - Boys (and parents if they want) help the farmhands at the Old Maryland Farm do morning chores before it opens to the public. 
    • They should wear clothes that can get dirty, and then change into other clothes afterward.
  • 1030 – 1100  - Wash hands and clean up shoes, then walk 5 minutes to the Nature Center
  • 1100 – 1145 - Creature Feature at the Nature Center ; hands on demonstration of reptiles, birds of prey, and critters.
  • 1200 – 1220 – Tractor will pick up kids at the Nature Center for a hayride around the park
  • 1230 – 1315 – Pack 343 Lunch – We will do lunch as a Pack—hot dogs and chips
    • Den 2 and Den 7 provide a parent to assist
  • 1330 – 1500 – Sports!!  Ultimate Frisbee, Football (Punt, pass and kick)
    • Den 1 and Den 3 provide a parent for each event
  • 1500 – 1600 – Scouts Choice – Bottle rockets, an organized hike or go to the playground
    • All Dens provide a parent to assist
  • 1600 – 1630 – Den Time to prepare for campfire skit and song!
  • 1630 – 1915 – Den Dinner (we will breakup into Dens for dinner)
  • 1915 – Pack 343 leave campsites for Amphitheater
  • 1930 – 2045 – Pack 343 Campfire, Pack Meeting and Graduation!!
    • Wear scout uniform
  • 2100 – Return to campsites
  • 2200 – Lights out
• Saturday (20 May 06)
  • 0900-0915 – Prayer and Song to conclude Campout

Pack Meeting

• Our May Pack Meeting will be held at Watkins Regional Park ampitheater during our campout
• Uniform required for Pack Meeting
  • Just scout shirt, neckerchief and slide... no hats
• Each den will perform skit/song
• Scouts will receive any recognition they have earned
• Scouts will graduate to next rank

Bottle Rocket Launching

If you were at the Pack Meeting in October, you'll remember the Bottle Rocket building and launching fun as Cubmaster Dave leads the Scouts in this fun activity.  Bring empty 1-liter, 2-liter, 20-ounce plastic bottles for building rockets and then see how high they will launch into the air.

• Do NOT bring televisions, radios, walkmen, skateboards, scooters, or bikes. ABSOLUTELY no alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, liquid fuels, large axes, hatchets, chainsaws, sheath knives, fireworks, or weapons. Also, no pets are allowed.
