Arrow of Light
It is also the night we award the badge that represents the highest achievement in Cub Scouts the Arrow of Light.
Webelos Den 2 will receive the Arrow of Light award. This is the highest award given in Cub Scouts and is the only Cub Scout badge that can be worn on the Boy Scout uniform. This is the culmination of several years of cub scouting, as many of these scouts started in Pack 50 as Tiger Cubs. We are all very proud of their achievements.
This years recipients are:
Ryan Kordziel
Philip Horan
Evan Reid
Ben Beckmmann
Skit Night
Tonight we have over 50 special guests. They are the scouts themselves. Its skit night and that means fun. The scouts have been practicing their parts and they are ready to entertain us. So, sit back, relax and get ready to laugh.

Pinewood Derby
The upcoming Pinewood Derby, scheduled for January 27th (8:00am-12:00noon), is a very exciting event for scouts. Scouts learn design and construction skills that they will use throughout their lives. Naturally, Scouts will differ in their abilities to perform these skills due to their age and experience. No one is in a better position to recognize an individual scouts abilities than their own parents. Therefore, Pack 50 encourages parents to assist in the construction of the vehicle but cautions them to encourage the scout to participate also. We want the scouts to feel that it is their car but we also want them to have a car that is the proper weight (no more than 5 oz.) and of sound construction (the wheels stay on). We are looking parent volunteers to help set up the track Friday night Jan 26. We are also looking for volunteers for race day to help weigh, measure, and check in the scouts and their cars. Volunteers may call or email Peter at
pboeri@nycap.rr.com.

Special Events Calendar
March 17: Pack 50 Snow Tubing at West Mountain, Queensbury, New York 2pm-4pm
June 2nd: Old State Road cleanup.
Blue & Gold Dinner
You were there so you know how much hard work must have gone into the event. Many people volunteered to set up the tables, prepare and bring food, and clean up afterwards. The scouts and leaders really got into the spirit of the event by displaying amazing table decorations. There is one person who deserves to be singled out for a big round of applause. If you get the opportunity, be sure to thank Heide Horan for her efforts.
Den Doings
Den 3 Visited the New York State Museum and enjoyed exploring the many exhibits on display. We also had a bowling outing at Town and Country Lanes over the school break. The scouts had a great time and even scored some strikes!
Den 4: In preparation of their Readyman pin had visited the Western Turnpike Rescue Squad Station
Den 5: Was "spared" a cold weekend by "striking" up some heat at the Town 'N Country Lanes. We also elected to spend our Pack Store money on a pizza party there!
Den 7: Went to a River Rats game. All the Scouts had their picture taken with a special visitor to our suite, Rowdy the River Rat.
Den 8: went to 5 rivers and hiked a couple trails on snow shoes, cold and windy, but all had fun.
